Information re: day 2 first-year induction

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We were delighted to welcome your child to school today.

As a staff it was great to start to get to know them and we hope that they found the day helpful.

Tomorrow will build on today's programme. As a reminder: first-year students should, from tomorrow, enter the school via the back gate and use the door nearest room 116. This will help to get them used to using this door which is their designated entrance.

School will be open as per today at 0830 and on entering they should go directly to their classroom.

Thank you for your support for your child and for the school - it was evident in the manner in which the students conducted themselves - they were a credit to you and it was especially noticeable in how they complied with the wearing of face coverings/masks.

We know that it will take them time to adjust to life in a new school so we would appreciate you mentioning this message to them and emphasising that we were really pleased with how they conducted themselves, that we have high expectations of them, and we know they will live up to them.

Your continued support in helping to develop the practice of social distancing and wearing face coverings/masks is really influential. So, when you have the opportunity at home to discuss it, please do so as it helps to support our work at school.

Students for tomorrow will need:

  • Uniform
  • Face covering/mask
  • €10 for the school journal if they did not get it today
  • A snack and drink for break time
  • Pencil case with biros and colouring pens/pencils
  • Own earphones as they may be needed for computer work

Thank you for your continued support and co-operation.
