TYA and our 3 budding playwrights travelled to the Dean Crowe Theatre in Athlone on Tuesday 3rd May.
On the day, all 3 TY students were placed in the top 7 out of hundreds of entries in the RTE Playwright Competition.
Congratulations and well done to the students involved and their mentor throughout this process, Mr. Caden, on a fantastic achievement. The awardees on the day were:
- Eve Smyth with her play 'Helpless' which took first place in the RTE Playwright Competition yesterday prize of €350 euros
- Katie Hanlon with her play 'Choiceless' took 3rd place €100
- Ciara Holland with her play 'Fitting Out' took 7th place
The greatest ‘prize’ was perhaps the live staging of the winning play on the day – please see VT footage attached. An amazing moment to see your words jump off the page and come to life on the stage…
