FAQs

Please check below for information before submitting your query as it may already be addressed here. This page is new and a work in progress so we would ask for your patience as we continue to update it. Many thanks.

Who do I contact if I have a query?

Firstly, we would ask that you take a minute to read down through this page as your query may be addressed further down. If you are still unsure you should email your query to admin@calasanctius.ie and we will be in touch. Office hours are 8.30am - 4.30pm (Monday - Thursday) and 8.30am - 2pm on Fridays. Please keep in mind that it can take a little longer to get back to you because of the high volume of calls we experience on a daily basis, but bear with us and we will reply.

What should I do if my child is a little off but I know it’s not COVID-19?

If your child displays any one of the symptoms of COVID then you must keep your child at home and consult your GP. Regardless of the symptoms displayed we encourage parents/guardians to err on the side of caution and keep unwell children at home until they are well enough to attend. The health of all our students is our primary concern at all times and we ask everyone to take this into account in the decision making process.

What does my child do if they feel unwell?

Students should tell their teacher immediately or find the nearest staff member for assistance. They should report to the school office and contact will be made with home to arrange for collection. Parents/guardians will be called and, if necessary, their doctor will be called, or the emergency services, as appropriate. For health and safety reasons, all students must be accounted for at all times; especially if they are feeling ill. Therefore, we ask that students do not opt to stay in the bathroom (alone or accompanied) or make contact with parents without informing a staff member.

What if I want to drop off something to my son/daughter...maybe he/she forgot his/her lunch?

We understand that from time to time in exceptional situations students forget things or you need to drop something in for them. In this instance we ask that you buzz the front door where you will be admitted entrance to drop off your delivery into the porch for collection by your child. It is you and your child's responsibility to make the necessary collection arrangements; office staff will not be in a position to leave the office during the day to find students. Please note that these arrangements are for exceptional circumstances only.

Are there set doors for coming in?

Yes, we are continuing to operate the same system as last year whereby each year group was assigned a specific entry/exit door. This will be explained during beginning of the year induction.
