Green Flag Award for School

We received a special Green schools travel flag and certificate for being involved in a car free day last May along with 6 other schools in Galway City. We were the only secondary school that received the flag. Look out for our next Car free day the 16th December.

Calasanctius College is delighted to announce that we have been chosen as an Ambassador School for Cycle Against Suicide. This award is in recognition for its ongoing efforts in raising an increased awareness of the importance of mental health in our school.

Congratulations to our Leaving Certs

Well done to all of the Leaving Certs 2016 on some really fantastic results, this year over 30% of our students achieved over 500 points in the Leaving Certificate Exam

Investment in I.C.T.

Over the past two years the school has invested substantially in our Computer

resources with the addition of over a 100 new computers to the school.  The school has

now secured an O.V.S. licensing agreement with Microsoft which in turn means

that students and parents can download for free the most up to date versions of

Office (Word, Excel,Power point etc.)

Our School

Calasanctius College Oranmore is a co-educational college, which caters for the needs of the local community. The students come from Oranmore and surrounding areas, including Maree, Carnmore, Claregalway, Clarenbridge, Kilcolgan and the south side of Galway City. The students come from very different backgrounds, both socially and economically, ranging from farming, self-employed, unemployed, business, and professional. The majority of students intend to carry on to third level.

The ambition of the school is to ensure that all members of the school community are given the best opportunity to achieve their potential in a happy, caring and supportive environment” The beautiful school building overlooking Galway Bay was opened in 2006 and accommodates approximately 800 students. Facilities include modern state of the art Science laboratories, material technology rooms, technical graphics rooms home economic rooms a music room, a full size sports hall and a fully equipped exercise gymnasium and modern canteen and performance area.
