The John Forde Tournament drew to an exciting close yesterday. From a field of 12, the final two teams battled it out in the scorching heat to see who would claim the bragging rights for 2025. Nothing could separate them in normal time when the game finished 1-1. Golden goal resumed and an early strike caught everyone unawares to snatch victory and win on a scoreline of 2-1. This tournament has grown into a longstanding tradition in our school which heralds in the exam weather and draws the curtain down on another academic year. At this time of year we fondly remember our dear, departed colleague John Forde who was taken from us all too soon. Well done to all who competed over the past two weeks and many thanks for the positive attitude and excellent spirit you brought to the competition. Huge congratulations to the winning team, captained by Éanna Costello and hard luck to the runners-up, captained by Jamie Lardner. Special mention to our Player of the Tournament winner Éanna Costello, who led from the front throughout and finished the game on a high scoring the winning goal on the day.
