Congratulations to the Calasanctius College First Year Football team on a great win in the Connacht B football final, over St Attracta's of Sligo.
In a close and competitive game, played in the dome at the Connacht Centre of Excellence in Bekan, Calasanctius finished stronger on score line of 4:11 to 0:13.
Among our scorers were Mark Allnutt, Harry Glynn, David Casserly, Stephen Black, Ronan Keating and Daniel Jordan.
The game had many ups and downs including a crucial penalty save by Gerard Killilea in the first ten minutes and two brilliant goals by Ronan Keating. Patrick McGrath and Sean Cleare were standout performers and defended resolutely all game.
While the St. Attracta's boys came back into the game in the second half, it was ultimately the second half goals by Mark Allnut and Harry Glynn which closed out the game. Well done to thirty two man squad who reaped the rewards of a hard fought campaign.
